Bovis Lend Lease Pty Ltd, Jemena Pty Ltd, John Holland Pty Ltd and McConnell Dowell Pty Ltd have all submitted tenders to complete the project, the scope of which includes microtunnelling under Wyong River. Other specifications of the project include the construction of 2 pipelines totalling 22 kilometres, two pump stations, and inlet and outlet structures and electrical requirements.

The Mardi-Mangrove Link Project is a joint initiative of Wyong Shire and Gosford City Councils, with Federal Government funding of $A80.3 million through the Water Smart Australia Program. The project is the largest single water infrastructure project undertaken by the two councils in more than 25 years.

The contract is expected to be awarded in mid-December with construction of the project to commence in early 2010. The Mardi-Mangrove Link Project is scheduled for completion and commissioning by mid-2011.
