Digisewer System
The easiest and cheapest approach to the digital world of sewer inspection is Digisewer™. Digisewer and iPEK Spezial-TV present the latest in digital sewer technology. The newly designed and developed Digisewer inspection system is a method of inspection that is both easy to use and effective.
There is no need to invest in expensive new systems - Digisewer is an add-on to iPEK Spezial TV’s Rovver 48/70 system. The Digisewer camera head fits to the Rovver FW125 and Rovver FW225 and can be added within seconds.
When adjusted to a pipe of 150 - 800 mm diameter with the Rovver 48/70 elevator device, the system is up and ready in a few minutes. With the additional Rovver 48/70 raise kits the system can be used in pipe up to 1,500 mm in diameter.
Article continues below…The system’s components include the Digisewer camera head, adapter box for communication to software and a software module Digisewer for WinCan V8. To run the system, a PC, WinCan V8 and Rovver 48/70 system with Rovver FW125 or Rovver FW225 are required.
Digisewer works with a standard video signal, which is taken from the fish eye camera. This picture is then unfolded and once stored on HDD or CD/DVD, the operator can make the inspection and report in the office.
Because of the digitalisation of an analogue video signal the data size is extremely small. While about 1 km of inspection data can be stored with other systems in the market, the Digisewer can store 10 km of data on a single DVD.
This new technology offers the possibility of storing the data in digital formats, which in the future will allow operators to analyse sewers completely automatically. Fault finding, laterals, joints and other measurements will be possible automatically.
The Digisewer software also already offers automatic joints finding. Tools for exact reporting and survey are included in the WinCan V8 Digisewer Module, and the free of charge WinCan V8 viewer already offers a range of tools to make inspection easier, faster and cheaper.
By using an independent software interface it is possible to export all data into any software program for the next step analyses. With the functions of WinCan V8, going from a professional digital survey to a report that will satisfy all customers is a relatively simple process. The integration of international standards is also guaranteed with the use of WinCan V8.
Today Digisewer guarantees a professional survey in less time and without the loss of any information. Digisewer is a smart investment in the digital future by using the today’s technology to be up to date and ready for the opportunities new automatic report and fault finding software will offer.
QuickView
Studies show that 75 per cent of underground pipelines need no cleaning or detailed CCTV inspection and the newly improved QuickView is the ideal tool to assess infrastructure condition in such cases.
Rugged, lightweight and inexpensive, the QuickView can assist in asset maintenance planning and capture detailed footage from confined spaces.
It looks 20 - 80 m down 150 - 1,500 mm sewer and stormwater lines, revealing at a glance whether pipes need full cleaning or closer detailed inspection with a mainline inspection system.
Being fully battery operated, a single operator using the QuickView can inspect manholes, chambers, road culverts and survey sewer and stormwater lines safely from street level, saving the expense and time of utilising a fully outfitted CCTV van.
QuickView’s powerful 216:1 colour zoom camera and bright high-powered lights allow the operator to pinpoint hidden flaws and obstructions, then document them with crisp colour video and still images.
QuickView is a cost-effective alternative to hazardous confined-space entry and a complement to sewer and storm line CCTV and cleaning operations.
SuperVision
SuperVision sets a new standard for pipeline video inspection crawlers, integrating a host of innovations such as PipeBus, a communications protocol that allows for lighter cable and longer runs, as well as a zoom camera option, onboard diagnostics and the most sophisticated control console ever designed for a pipeline inspection crawler.
Like iPEK’s popular 48/70 Portable System, SuperVision has a modular design that lets you swap out camera heads, crawlers, auxiliary lamps and wheels to meet the demands of the inspection at hand.
And with a choice of cable reels, control units and pendants, you can build the system that best suits your working style.
Features of the Supervision include:
• A Kevlar-reinforced cable which weighs up to 20 per cent less than others, allowing SuperVision to travel much further into pipe - up to 500 m. • Optional zoom camera head with high-powered lamp array further extends effective inspection distance. • Onboard intelligence speeds diagnosis and supports virtually any combination of auxiliary sensors and end effectors. • Fully automatic reel pays out and retracts cable, preventing crawler tangles and jams. • Interchangeable wheels, lamps and cameras adapt crawler to any size pipe. • Adjustable-height camera (SV250) rises above debris and water, centring view in pipe. • BackEye camera aids in backward travel and negotiation of difficult terrain. • Dual lasers allow for relative measurement of defects. • Complete stainless steel construction delivers a durable solution for precision inspection.
