The fountain had developed a leak at two pipe joints that were causing leakage into the surrounding ground and plant room.
The pipe in question is an 800 mm diameter stainless steel pipe that supplied return water from the fountain surface to the pumps.
The seals were required to withstand a pressure of 3 metres of internal water head.
Installation of the seals was completed without any issues, unfortunately due to water restrictions the fountain has not been operated since the repair.

The AMEX-10 MONO Seal is a low profile mechanical seal for internal pipe repair of leaking pipe joints.
A robust section of rubber spans the joint, fitted using Hydraulic expansion of stainless steel compression rings, thus eliminating the use of chemical adhesives.
The seal is able to accommodate substantial joint movements and is abrasion resistant.
They can be fitted to all pipe sizes, where man access is achievable. The pipes do not need to be dry and each seal takes approximately one hour to install.
The AMEX-10 MONO Seal is suitable to seal pipe joints and leaks in diameters from 500 to 6,000 mm inside pipes and containers made of steel, cast iron, reinforced concrete, PVC, AC, GLP and PE. Seals can be configured for internal and / or external pressure.
The seal can be installed in circular profile, elliptical profile, egg shape profile, mouth profile and cornered profile.
EPDM rubber is used with potable water, storm water, raw water, sewer, leaches and soft acids. NBR is used with gas and oil.
