The JT922 Directional Drill is just such a machine, designed specifically in response to market requests for a compact yet high performance borer with features you would normally only find in much bigger models.
At just 3.7 metres in length, the JT922 is the shortest drill in its class, yet this little dynamo holds 90 metres of pipe on board, enough to finish most jobs and double that of its rivals.
In fact, the whole machine is packed with big borer features such as a heavy duty anchor system, open top vise wrenches which are angled towards the operator for a clear view of the tool joint, and an integrated remote display.
A high performance 54 Hp Deutz air-cooled diesel engine enables thrust and pull back force of 9,000 lb and a best in class carriage travel speed of 75 metres per minute, for faster cycle speeds and more pipe in the ground.

The compact size of the JT922 makes this an ideal machine for smaller site work – it is very manoeuvrable. Turf-friendly tracks further increase its job capabilities.
The operator has also been considered – here, the operating seat is positioned near the centre of the pipe rack, and can slide fore and aft to facilitate pipe handling.
All this performance and drilling power has been incorporated in a drill which delivers true low maintenance from the field proven rack and pinion thrust drive and welded-on double rack to the easy to removal side panel which provides access to all regular service points.
And perhaps most surprising of all is the very affordable price tag.
David Stewart, the Construction Equipment Manager at Loadlift New Zealand, comments “We see the new JT922 having real application in the New Zealand market place. It’s a great little machine that does a big job in a small space. It’s easy to maintain…and is great value.”
The first JT922 drills have just arrived at Loadlift’s head office in Penrose Auckland.
