Chris has had over 30 years experience with various water authorities in Victoria including the State Rivers & Water Supply Commission (later the Rural water Corporation), Mornington Peninsula & District Water Board, Melbourne Water, and now South East Water Limited.

His main areas of expertise are the design and construction of water supply and sewerage systems. He has been involved with such activities as salinity investigation; irrigation projects; and design and construction of urban water reticulation schemes, large diameter water and sewage pipelines, urban sewerage systems, and sewage treatment plant upgrades.

Currently he is the Project Manager for the Pakenham-Narre Warren Sewerage Transfer System, for which the main component is a $37.5 million contract for the construction of the Hallam Valley Main Sewer (HVMS) and associated works. The HVMS comprises 8.5 km of 1500 mm pipeline, all installed by pipejacking, along with another 800 metres of 900 mm sewer also installed using Trenchless Technology.

After installing pipelines for many years, Chris has now gone full circle. Along with the Hallam Valley Main Sewer, he is currently managing South East Water’s teams engaged in renewing water and sewer pipelines with annual budgets of $6 million and $4 million respectively. Some 85 per cent of the water renewals and 99 per cent of the sewer renewals are carried out using Trenchless Technology.
