The increase in the popularity and necessity of Trenchless Technology such as directional drilling for the installation of pipe has become a vitally important step in the process.
The material characteristics of PE100 polyethylene pipe, such as product strength, flexibility, workability, abrasive resistance, corrosion resistance and delivery in continuous coils make it an excellent product for HDD and other trenchless applications.
PPI Corporation is now manufacturing a product called Hi Vis Sewer, which provides all of the qualities mentioned above but also allows easy internal viewing of the pipe for maintenance and inspections. As the product is polyethylene, it creates a fully sealed pipe system through the welded joints and eliminates the possibility of root ingress like other systems.
Some of Australia’s major councils and water authorities have already called for sewer pipe to be in polyethylene as they have realised the cost-of-life advantages of polyethylene verses traditional pipe system materials.
