Two contracts awarded for Coongulla Glenmaggie Sewerage Scheme project

Two construction contracts totalling almost $A4 million have been won by companies from the region as part of Gippsland Water’s Coongulla Glenmaggie Sewerage Scheme project.

Maffra Trenching and Boring (MTB) has secured an $A2.4 million contract to install the reticulation network for the three townships within the new sewerage scheme.

MTB has begun the installation of the street reticulation pipelines and property boundary kits, which will be rolled-out progressively commencing in Glenmaggie, followed by Glenmaggie Point and then Coongulla between September 2012 and May 2013.

MTB has already undertaken work on the project, with the recent completion of the main sewer transportation pipeline that will transfer all wastewater collected in Coongulla, Glenmaggie and Glenmaggie Point to the Heyfield Wastewater Treatment Plant.

A spokesperson on behalf of MTB said that they are installing approximately 10 km of small diameter reticulation mains by horizontal directional drilling.

Traralgon-based civil construction company Doncol has been announced as the successful tenderer for the construction of the $A850,000 sewerage pump station to be located at the end of Ryans Road in Coongulla.
