Managing director Trevor Gosatti, a veteran of the civil construction industry, took the helm of ShieldLiner last year and is working with his board and key management staff to position Vortex as one of the few Australian companies providing a total range of solutions for composite pipe production and traditional pipe rehabilitation and repair.
The company last year refocused its business to expand beyond the research and development of the ShieldLiner pipe relining system.
Mr Gosatti says that there are myriad opportunities for Vortex.
“The reasoning behind the change is that the company going forward will represent more than just an entity developing the ShieldLiner System,” says Mr Gosatti.
Article continues below…He says Vortex is well placed to take advantage of those opportunities. The company already has evolved into an integrated and supply company with three distinct business units:
* Glass Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) Pipes Distribution and Installation business unit; * Pipe Services business unit, which specialises in pipe rehabilitation, utilising leading edge Trenchless Technologies; and, * ShieldLiner System Technology Development and Commercialisation business unit.
The innovative ShieldLiner technology is rapidly transforming pipe rehabilitation for water, sewage, storm water, oil, gas and mining. It uses air pressure and a unique multi-layering bonding process to reline, repair seal pipes in-situ to prevent leakage, improve structural integrity and decrease low friction.
ShieldLiner has proven effective for small and large pipes and pressure or gravity pipes. It utilises a range of materials and combinations such as epoxies, ceramics, industrial coatings and cements. The end result is ‘no gap’ between the host pipe and the liner package.
Vortex is also the official Australian and New Zealand distributor of Fiber Glass Systems (FGS) GRE piping. FGS is the leading innovator and developer of composite piping solutions for corrosive environments and a leading worldwide manufacturer of fiberglass reinforced epoxy pipe products used primarily for corrosion control in low to high pressure applications.
Further strengthening its market coverage, Vortex is in discussions to develop a new range of advanced technology, high-end composite pipes that will be marketed across Australia and internationally.
Vortex is positioning itself as the smart solution to sustain vital infrastructure, by developing and acquiring unique technologies in pipe rehabilitation, pipe cleaning and new installation of composite pipes.
“We want to be known as the provider of smart, sustainable and enabling solutions,” says Mr Gosatti.
